'Squid Game' Season 2 Teaser Trailer Shows Seong Gi-hun Looking for Revenge

The first teaser trailer for season two of Squid Game shows that the game never ends, even when you believe it has.

Netflix released the new footage at an in-person fan event in Atlanta on Thursday, finishing off its Geeked Week flood of genre-focused announcements. It was previously reported that the streamer's most popular series would return on December 26, more than three years after its debut installment became a global hit in 2021.

In the teaser, a fresh game is about to begin, but an agitated Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) finds himself back in the game as Player 456, this time donning the green tracksuit.

"We're ready to start the game," a Korean voice adds. See the teaser below.

In addition to Lee, the Emmy-winning series' second season will feature Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo. They are accompanied by Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an.

Earlier this year, Netflix revealed that Squid Game would conclude with a third and final season, which would broadcast in 2025.

"Seong Gi-hun, who vowed revenge at the end of season one, returns and joins the game again," Squid Game executive producer, writer, and director Hwang Dong-hyuk previously revealed about the show's finale. "Will he succeed in exacting his revenge? Front Man doesn't appear to be an easy opponent this time around. The violent conflict between their two worlds will continue into season three's climax, which will air next year."
